Once
upon a time, in ancient China, there lived a wise nobleman.
One
day he received the gift of a white stallion from the Emperor.
All
the other noblemen were full of praise for this magnificent horse and
congratulated the wise nobleman.
He said,
“It is the will of God.”
A
week later, the wise nobleman’s son went for a ride on the horse.
Unfortunately,
he met with an accident and broke his leg.
His
friends rushed him home.
His mother and other people who saw him cried in grief
and went to tell the wise nobleman what had happened.
He said,
“It is the will of God.”
Two
months passed and the country went to war with its neighbour.
All
the young men in the country were recruited to serve in the war and many of
them died.
The
wise nobleman’s son was not sent to fight because he was injured.
As
a result he remained alive.
The
wise nobleman said, “It is the will of God.”
