The Lonely Butterfly

Art: Lisa D'Cruz, 5, India

Deep, deep in the city lived a beautiful butterfly named Titly.
She was very sad because she had no friends at all.
She knew a bee, a wasp, a grasshopper and a spider.
However, the bee was too busy,
the wasp was too noisy,
the grasshopper was always jumpy,
and the spider was too hairy.
Titly wanted some butterfly friends.
She had heard that butterflies lived in the mountains.
So she decided to take a train ride to the Tall Mountains.
When Titly arrived in the Tall Mountains, she went in search of other butterflies.
Soon she found herself in....
The Valley of Flowers!
Titly made many butterfly friends –
Big and small,
Bright and light,
Beautiful and cheerful.
Titly happily stayed in the Valley of Flowers and never returned to the city again.
