A
jackal was wandering in a pasture.
He
found a lamb’s skin.
He
thought,
“If I cover myself with this skin and pretend to graze along with the other lambs, I will be able to fool the shepherd. When he goes to sleep at night, I will have a fat lamb for dinner.”
So
he covered himself with the lamb’s skin and mingled with the other lambs grazing
in the pasture.
When
evening came, the unsuspecting shepherd took him home and locked him in the
courtyard with the other lambs.
That
night there was a big feast at the shepherd’s house.
He
ordered his servant to kill a fat lamb for dinner.
The
servant killed the jackal mistaking it for the fattest lamb.
The shepherd’s guests had jackal stew for dinner.
The shepherd’s guests had jackal stew for dinner.
