A Perfect Painting

King Vishwa was a brave and righteous king who made all the people in his kingdom happy.

However, unlike other kings who are handsome and strong, King Vishwa had two physical imperfections. His left eyelid was weak and tended to droop down on his eye. His right leg was shorter than the left one and he couldn’t stand straight.

King Vishwa had fought valiantly in many battles to protect his kingdom. After one such victory, his ministers decided that a grand painting of the king should be presented to him. They approached several famous painters with this request but they all declined because it was difficult to make a grand painting of the king with his physical imperfections.

One young painter, however, agreed to paint a grand painting of King Vishwa. Everybody was anxious to see this painting. They assembled in a big hall in the palace when the painting was to be presented to their beloved king.

As the curtain over the painting opened, their mouths opened in awe. The young painter had indeed painted a grand picture.

It depicted King Vishwa on a hunting trip. He held a bow and arrow in his hands and aimed with his left eye closed. In a graceful posture, he had raised his right leg to maintain his balance.
The painting was a perfect picture of a physically imperfect king.
The young painter was rewarded handsomely for his creativity.

Lesson: We can also learn to look at the imperfections in ourselves and others in a positive way.
