There was a young milkmaid
called Radha.
She milked her cow every
morning and took the milk to the market to sell.
One day, Radha woke up
early as usual and milked her cow. Then she placed the pot of milk on her head
and started walking towards the market.
On the way, Radha began daydreaming. She said to herself, “With the money I get after I have sold this milk, I will buy some eggs. Soon, chickens will hatch from those eggs. The chickens will grow into fine hens. I will sell those hens and get a lot of money. Then I will buy myself a silk saree. I will look very pretty in that saree. People will ask me about how I became so rich. I will simply shake my head and say, “No, I will not tell you.””
So saying Radha shook her
head.
Alas! The pot of milk
resting on her head fell down and all the milk spilled to the ground.
(Lesson: Do not build
castles in the air.)
